Well, it’s my first time to visit Shenzhen. Unlike other visitors, when I come to a city which is new for me I’m usually do not pay much attention on those tourist attractions, I would like to go deep into it instead. Since I can stay there like 3 days only, so I didn’t visit too much famous places such as the Window of the World (世界之窗), Splendid China (锦绣中华), but I have been to Diwang Mansion (地王大厦) for the best view of Shenzhen (It actually wasn’t the best view). First impression is always precious, here is why I come up with this post (Texts, pictures, and videos). Hope it can help you to get to know Shenzhen a little bit~ :)
DAY 1: Dongmen Street (东门步行街) , Diwang Mansion (地王大厦), Shenzhen Book City’s Luohu store (深圳书城罗湖店)
P1. Took this picture in the metro. Shenzhen is young city, many people come to this city to chasing their dreams. This is why I like the metro in Shenzhen —— You don’t have to give up your seat to old people, because it’s rare to see an old people in metro! :p I was going to a Japanese food restaurant which is highly recommended by net-friends. If you’re interested in this meal, click here.
P2. The public transport system in China is very convenience, but the ticket price is higher than the price in Beijing. The bus driver seems only know two things: ACCELERATE and STOP! The bus driver in Shenzhen just drive so fast as much as I can imagine. But don’t worry about the safety, they will always be a ticket seller to watch the door side out in order to keep accident out from door pinch.
P3. My first destination is Dongmen Street, it’s a walking street which is full of small retailers.
P4. A child play with bubbles on the street.
P5. Dongmen Street is quite short if compared with Harbin’s Center Street and Beijing Wangfujing Street. As the time I walk out of it, it’s the time with rain. The weather in Shenzhen is quite moist and mild, similar to the weather in Kuala Lumpur.
P6. Then I went to Diwang Mansion (383.95 meters tall), in the building’s height became famous, I thought I could get a gorgeous view from it, but the truth is, I can’t see anything because of the rain, the view was all white color. Tips about Diwang Mansion: The entry ticket would be 10 RMB cheap if you purchase online. Not many things can see on it unless you have choose a sunny day and get your camera ready. Here is the Deng Xiaoping’s wax figure and I at Diwang Mansion, Shenzhen:
P7. In front of Shenzhen Book City’s Luohu store:
P8. I searched information online and it shows me there is another walking street nearby Shenzhen Book City’s Luohu store, but I don’t think this one should be count in as a walking street as we known.
P9. Observe human behavior…
P10. I found an alley down the street, I like to walk in this kind of alley very much! You can find many different people and their all doing different activities, just made me feel like being a real game! And they are NPCs. :D
P11. There you go! See how many different poses are here! I had my dinner at a small restaurant in this alley, and I have seen how people use technology to serve the quality of their life: More and more people started to pay fees via mobile phone, pre-pay the money or scan the QR code in the restaurant to finish the fee. I feel like old…
P12. I bought a transport travel pass, there are two types of them, the one is the big size which is similar as the IC card size, the other one is the small one which look like this:
P13. I spent 70 RMB for the entry ticket of Diwang Mansion in order to get a good view of the city but I didn’t see it, but I get this good view in my friend’s dormitory without paying anything, what a joke… :p
DAY 2: OCT-LOFT (华侨城创意文化园), Hongshulin Park (深圳红树林自然保护区), Sea World (海上世界)
P14. At OCT-LOFT, this place is in similar theme of 798 ArtDist in Beijing, but small and more commercial.
P15. This picture is taken at Hongshulin Park, Shenzhen. The weather wasn’t good enough at the day I stayed, I believe this picture could be more shining in a sunny day.
P16. This is the last departure of my second formal night in Shenzhen —— Sea World. I heard the people said the music fountain is beautiful at night. So I’m here with a friend and comes up with the video I shared above of this post.
P17. The Minghua ship at Sea World:
P18. Have dinner.
P19. Rib-Eye Steak. I like the waitress in that restaurant, mmm. :p
P20. Another side of view of Minghua ship at Sea World:
P21. My fellow with me at a bar of the Sea World:
DAY 3: Try some food in a local restaurant, explore Shenzhen Library (深圳图书馆)
P23. I woke up too early and catch that morning peak up at metro station. See? This is young city, people said about 90% or above people that you see on the street in Shenzhen is not local, they come here for study, or working. Because of this diversity, people in Shenzhen are much more friendly than other cities.
P24. I took this picture with my Xiao Mi phone. I supposed to try a highly recommended Chinese restaurant by this day, but that restaurant was closed in the morning so I’ve decided to try another one which is located right after it. From the picture you can see that chef is cooking inside, and the customer just sitting in front of him, which makes it kind of Japanese-style. They are work people having lunch at this place, that guy wearing black shirt is actually taking the free refillable rice. The friendly cashier+waitress+boss of this restaurant is a women from other city which is also south part of China (Not in the picture).
P25. This is the food I had there, to be honest, it’s tasty and very cheap!
P26. Then I spent a half day in Shenzhen Library, it is the largest library in Shenzhen. I forgot to say Shenzhen is a safe city, about every blocks on the street got handy’s police office. It’s just sit on the right side of this picture.
P27. A view near to Shenzhen Library:
P28. Everyone could get inside and no one would even ask for your identity or interrupt your reading. People come here to study, to learn, no one make any noise. I love it.
P29. Inside of Shenzhen library, there are listening section, internet section and more other different sections.
P30. Big, and beauty.
P31. A view of Shenzhen Library:
That’s my 3 days itinerary in Shenzhen. A lovely city full of young people, hope I can spend time to live in this city for some years in the future… :)
